Two more people have been arrested related to a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by police.
A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.
These detentions follow a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their luggage after getting out of a parking garage elevator.
A three-year-old girl was among the injured during the incident. Five people went to hospital for medical care and have since been released.
Officers detained a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault near the scene. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.
Authorities were called at approximately 08:10 GMT following reports of several people injured by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.
The attack - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - caused train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
